Frequently Asked Questions
I have a problem with my computer. Will you make me look foolish? Absolutely not. We understand that computers can be confusing and can sometimes throw up error messages that are meaningless. Don't blame yourself for this. We will assist you with your problem in a professional and courteous manner.
My computer contains confidential information. Will you look at this? We will NEVER EVER look into areas of your computer that have nothing to do with the problem we are resolving. Anything we see on your computer will be kept confidential. We can also give advice on how to keep your documents safe, secure and private.
My computer has BIG problems. Am I going to lose all my documents and pictures? Whenever you allow a third party into your computer you must always back-up any important data beforehand. If you are not sure how to do this or your computer won't let you, WE WILL HELP. You can be sure in the knowledge that we will never delete anything without your permission.
I have somehow lost my important documents. Can you recover these for me? Yes we can. Whether you have deleted something by accident, had a hardware failure or been attacked by a virus, we have the tools and knowledge to recover your files. Be aware that we cannot accomplish the impossible, so it's worth remembering to always keep back-ups. If you need help with this we will be happy to advise you.
My computer has packed up and I'm desperate to get working again. Can you supply an emergency service? Yes providing you are with the region we cover which is the south-west of England. We use a flexible booking service for non urgent work so as to allow an emergency service. There is, of course, an extra charge which we will discuss with you.
What's all this about 'whiz-kids'? What's your problem? The computer (Information Technology) business is the same as many other industries in that there are many individuals with varied levels of experience/knowledge offering support services. There are the professionals - like ourselves - who spend vast amounts of time (and money) staying up to date with the latest developments and improving skills with the present systems. And there are 'whiz-kids' who have tinkered and played with their home computers and now feel they can fix any problem on any computer - to be fair, a lot of the time they are pushed into it. So, if I wanted to be cruel, it's a bit like builders and cowboys.
I've heard of Danmat. Didn't you have shops in Birmingham? Yes that's right. But they were sold to Avery PC's so that Danmat Ltd could be relocated to a much nicer area.
